Most owners know instinctively that kindness, love and a little structure help a new puppy grow into a happy, well-mannered adult dog. But there’s one part of raising a pup that’s much harder to do at home: helping them feel calm, confident and content around other dogs.
Socialising, in a word – and it’s something we’ve become genuinely expert in. It’s why we created our Puppy Day Care: to introduce young dogs to a world bigger than their own four walls, where they can play, explore and build vital social skills with other dogs, all in a safe and carefully supervised setting.
We’ve found that the gentlest way to settle a brand new pup in is on our quieter days. Mondays and Fridays are our calmest; fewer dogs and a more relaxed pace that helps an ever-so-slightly nervous newcomer find their feet.
So we’ve made them our dedicated puppy days: on Mondays and Fridays, puppies join us at our special puppy rate of £35 a day. Pups are very welcome midweek too but Mondays and Fridays are where we’d always suggest a puppy begins.
Puppies can usually start with us from around 12 weeks old, once they’ve had their second vaccinations, and tend to gain the most from socialising between three and six months of age. When your pup reaches its 6-month birthday, it simply graduates to our adult day care. And as ever, there’s no commitment on the number of days – your pup can come five days a week, every week, or just the occasional day, whatever suits the two of you.
Our aim is simple: to help your puppy grow into a confident, sociable and happy dog. Spaces are limited, so if this sounds like your kind of thing, please contact us today to avoid disappointment!
